Roles

20th century

Other roles

In 1949, Butler appeared in a televised puppet show created by former animation director Bob Clampett called Time for Beany, where he provided the voices for Beany Boy and Captain Huffenpuff.

Butler had provided the voices of many characters from Walter Lantz's theatrical shorts, which would later be shown on his anthology series, The Woody Woodpecker Show. The most notable roles were the penguin Chilly Willy and his rival Smedley; The latter of which is a Southern-accented dog much akin to Huckleberry Hound.

In various television commercials from the 1960s to the 1980s, Butler voiced the mascot for Cap'n Crunch cereal.
