• In design, Rufus bares some similarities to Huckleberry Hound villain, Powerful Pierre, who, coincidentally, was also voiced Daws Butler.
• Rufus' original model sheet spells his name as "Ruffus," however, his name in most other places is simply just spelt as "Rufus."
