Behind the scenes
- Max lists this as a season three episode.
- The opening intro gag is of Space Ghost crashing the Phantom Cruiser into one building, which knocks over the rest.
- Girl, You My Friend! is a parody of the 1998-2004 HBO series Sex and the City, with allusions to the opening, the theme song, and four friends, although there wasn't a man in the group for the latter. Elektra is specifically a parody of Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw.
- According to the credits of Girl, You My Friends!, Elektra isn't even the real Elektra. She is just a character in the show played by someone called Brittany. Flirticia, Zelda, and Charlie the Robot are also played by actors called Lauren, Lucy, Brian, respectively.
- When Squiddly asks Snagglepuss what's wrong, he starts singing the 2009 song "Fireflies" by Owl City.
- Snagglepuss and Mildew acting as the announcers to the friendship competition is a reference to their roles on the Laff-a-Lympics TV series.
Errors
Legacy
- Jabberjaw wears her Elektra costume at the Sci-Fi/Fish Fry Con in "Space Con."
