Jellystone!

Choo Choo, nicknamed "Chooch" by Top Cat and his gang, is an anthropomorphic cat and a main character in the Top Cat television series. His voice was originated by Marvin Kaplan.

In the Max reboot series Jellystone!, Choo Choo is a girl and voiced by Jenny Lorenzo.

Character description

Choo Choo is a tall, pink cat with an angular face. He has slanted eyes and a peach snout. His tail is fluffy and has black tip at the end. Choo Choo also wears is a white turtleneck sweater with long sleeves. He also speaks in a soft Brooklyn accent.

At his core, Chooch is an enthusiastic follower of Top Cat's gang. One unique trait is that he exhibits a sensitive, child-like compassion towards the gang, and shows great lengths to support his leader. Despite his loyalty towards Top Cat, he usually jumps to conclusions and is very unaware of his eccentric motives. He is also a hopelessly romantic, often showing anxiety whenever he tries to go on a date, and even has his own insecurities when doubting on his potential mates, who are either too rich, famous, pretty, or all of the above for him. Although Choo Choo is generally a nice person, he has shown sarcasm at some points, and isn't completely immune to anger; probably the most outspoken about his frustrations, if not T.C.

As mentioned above, Choo Choo is a girl in Jellystone!, who shares a similar personality with her original incarnation, but is depicted as more outgoing and intelligent. She also has a thicker accent.

Behind the scenes

  • Choo Choo bares some design similarities to Fibber Fox from Yakky Doodle, as they both have the same head shape and sweaters.
  • In the Spanish dub, Choo Choo is called Chucho and speaks in a Yucatecan accent, an accent spoken by people in the Yucatan state of Mexico.
    • For Jellystone!, Chucho is renamed Cuchis yet still speaks in a Yucatecan accent.
  • Some promotional art of Choo Choo mistakenly shows him with a white-tipped tail instead of a black-tipped tail.
  • In 2015, Choo Choo surfaced as a meme on social media platforms such as Tumblr. A photo of the episode "Dibble Sings Again" was photoshopped into various images, and clips and images of the character were highlighted by many users.[2]
