"Sergeant Top Cat" is the eleventh episode of Top Cat season one. It aired on December 6, 1961 on ABC. It was produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the creators of the series and the founders of Hanna-Barbera Productions.

After hearing about Officer Dibble's suggestion of improving on the police force, Top Cat passes off Dibble's ideas as his own and becomes the former's boss and police sergeant.
