In early storyboards, the Brokeback Mountain parody was more clear and Captain Caveman and Cavey Jr went to the movie theater instead of El Kabong and Bobbie Louie.

• The episode title is a reference to the 1963 film It's a Mad Mad Mad World and the 2001 remake Rat Race.

  • The first Jellystone! appearance of Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole. The former appears in a movie poster for The Blow-ening.
