Behind the scenes

In popular culture

  • In the Family Guy episode "The Perfect Castaway," Peter becomes like Tom Hanks in the film Castaway, after being shipwrecked on a deserted island with his friends, growing a long beard and trying to catch fish. Peter takes out a pocket watch as Hanks does, but instead of his wife (or girlfriend in Hanks's character case), Peter carries a photo of Captain Caveman.
  • In the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode "A Very Sunny Christmas," Mac finds his old toy club in his childhood wardrobe, eliciting him to shout "Captain Caveman," and reminds Charlie of how they'd shave the neighborhood dogs' fur off and glue to their faces to play as Captain Caveman.
