The series would have been a crossover between Hanna-Barbera and Looney Tunes and would've feature the characters in cartoons together.
In April and May of [[2011]], Ruegger made several posts on his blog, Cartoonatics, that he developed a pitch for a series that would involve a wide range of crossover segments between characters from the defunct TV studio of [[Hanna-Barbera]], whose library was now owned by Warner Bros., and their own ''Looney Tunes'' series, which began life as a series of short theatrical films. Some of these segments would also lampoon movies and television series.

Mixed Nutz was an undeveloped American television series created by Tom Ruegger for Warner Bros. Animation in 2008.

In April and May of 2011, Ruegger made several posts on his blog, Cartoonatics, that he developed a pitch for a series that would involve a wide range of crossover segments between characters from the defunct TV studio of Hanna-Barbera, whose library was now owned by Warner Bros., and their own Looney Tunes series, which began life as a series of short theatrical films. Some of these segments would also lampoon movies and television series.

Development

Tom Ruegger, who previously worked on Yogi's Treasure Hunt and created Animaniacs, pitched Mixed Nutz to Brad Globe, head of Warner Bros. global licensing. The series was greenlit immediately and Ruegger began work on concept art and stories for the series.[2] An alternate title was Toonotopia, with Tom Ruegger designing a poster featuring Bugs Bunny that riffed on the 1927 silent film Metropolis.[3]

At the same time, however, Sam Register became Executive of Warner Bros. Animation, who was able to convince Roth to cancel the series before it even began, as Register had his own ideas for Looney Tunes,[2] which evolved into what The Looney Tunes Show became in 2011. It's worth noting that Cartoon Network also aired a cartoon version of MAD, a sketch comedy of a similar nature, from 2010 to 2013.
