Behind the scenes

  • Despite being a special, it has the show's opening.
  • The first three inmates seen when Mojo is taken to jail, are the ones who impersonated the girls with bad costumes in "Powerpuff Bluff."
  • The alien saucer is from "Beat Your Greens."
  • The eyeball monster is from "The Mane Event."
  • The balloon fish monster is from "Uh Oh Dynamo."
  • The three headed dragon is from "Octi Evil."
  • Some of the monsters were copied from ones seen in Professor Utonium's hologram room in "Bubblevicious."
  • When Mojo is blasted out of his suit, he holds up a sign that reads "Curses" in a similar manner that the silent Wile E. Coyote would do when he held up a sign that read "Ouch" after getting hurt from a fall or explosion.
  • Blossom gained her ice breath in "Ice Sore."
  • The truck driver that Blossom saves is from "Mime for a Change."
  • Lenny Baxter was the villain in "Collect Her."
  • The unnamed white cat was the villain in "Cat Man Do."
  • The Boogie Man was the villain in "Boogie Frights."
  • The Mayor's priceless porcelain poodle is from "Powerpuff Bluff."
  • Writer and director Craig McCracken inserted cameos of Bloo, Frankie, and Mac from his second series created for Cartoon Network, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
  • One of Ms. Bellum's bonus checks is dated November 18, 1998, the day the series first aired with the episodes "Monkey See, Doggie Do" and "Mommy Fearest."
  • The car race is a parody of Hanna-Barbera's TV series Wacky Races.
  • A turtle shell is launched from the Powerpuff Girls' dune buggy like in the Mario Kart video games which began in 1992.
  • "Big Butter is watching you" is a reference to the slogan, "Big Brother is watching you," in George Orwell's 1949 novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four.
  • Ms. Bellum's face is partially revealed when the citizens are ashamed of how the girls are fighting over the key to the world.
  • The Talking Dog's line," I have nothing to say," is what Oliver Hardy said in the 1933 Laurel and Hardy film Dirty Work.
