Professor Utonium is a scientist, inventor and a supporting character in the Powerpuff Girls animated franchise. His voice was originated by Tom Kane.

Utonium created the Powerpuff GirlsBlossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup—when trying to create the perfect little girl, which he somehow thought stirring a pot of "sugar, spice, and everything nice" would create one. He then accidentally added the extra ingredient of Chemical X, creating three little girls with special powers such as being able to fly, having super strength, super speed, and shooting lasers from their eyes.

Biography

Past life

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, were created in Professor Utonium's laboratory basement, when he wanted to artificially create the perfect little girl to be his daughter by mixing up a bowl of sugar, spice, and everything nice, but accidentally added the mysterious black vial of Chemical X. In reality, the accident was not the Professor's fault, but the result of his trouble-making lab assistant monkey, Jojo. The Chemical X caused an explosive chain reaction and out came not one but three little girls, each with their own superpowers. Jojo, meanwhile, had also been affected by the blast, causing his brain to expand above his head, along with increased intelligence which allowed him the power of speech. Even though Mojo had caused the accident, he grew resentful of the immediate love the Professor showed the girls, leaving the Utonium residence behind to begin a path of supervillainy. Both Professor Utonium and the girls blocked it from their memories soon after.[1][2]
