"Mommy Fearest" is the second part of the episode one of The Powerpuff Girls season one, and the second episode overall. It aired on November 18, 1998 on Cartoon Network. It was written by Michael Ryan, and directed by John McIntyre and series creator, Craig McCracken, as well as voice directed by McCracken.

The girls set the Professor up on a date with a seemingly perfect woman, who ends up controlling their lives and driving a wedge between the family.

  • In the film Unbreakable, an upside-down Joseph watches the scene where Buttercup tuts to Ima after they clean up her mess, and Ima's reaction by pushing over a plant pot. It cuts the in between scene out where Ima walks past the girls.
  • In the Everwood episode "Extra Ordinary," Amy watches this episode in her room before her father interrupts, specifically the scene where the girls are shopping at Malph's and the girls each have their own favorite snack they want Professor Utonium to buy.
  • Curiously, an adult Bubbles goes on a with Sedusa in "HBO's Powerpuff Girls," a sketch that aired in Fox's late-night animation programming block Animation Domination High-Def.
