Production

Development

The film was originally pitched as a Quick Draw McGraw film called Quickest Draw in the West, but Joseph Barbera rejected the idea as he didn't see Quick Draw as a "big show" during the 1980s. The film was later reworked into a Huck film, with Quick Draw and Baba Looey as side characters.

Filming

Daws Butler would record voice lines for characters like Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Quick Draw, Baba Looey, Hokey Wolf and Peter Potamus, but would soon pass away days after the release of the film, due to a heart attack.

Music

The music was composed by Sven Libaek.
