Crew credits

Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: September 26, 2023 on Digital HD and DVD

Behind the scenes

  • Grey Griffin's name is stylized in the same manner as the Wonder Woman 1970s TV series.
  • Shaggy and Scooby's fist bump in the opening credits is a reference to how the Wonder Twins activate their powers.
  • Daphne has purple eyes.
  • Shaggy says "Zoinks" six times.
  • Velma says "Jinkies" twice.
  • Daphne says "Jeepers" twice.
  • Scooby says "Ruh-roh" once.
    • Shaggy says "Ruh-roh" once.
  • Fred says "Hold the phone" once.
  • Scooby confuses Solomon Grundy for the Creeper, to which Velma says that they already solved that mystery, which is a reference to the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode "Jeepers, It's the Creeper."
  • There are references to the Challenge of the Superfriends series with posters based on poses in the theme song and Helen's food truck having the Challenge of the Superfries gimmick.
  • Lex Luthor's run as President of the United States is inspired by events in the mainstream DC Universe.
  • The Hall of Justice computer sounds like the Super Friends narrator.
  • Lex is a close analog of the version played by Gene Hackman in Superman: The Movie, to the point where he paraphrases Hackman Luthor's "stocks may rise and fall" monologue.
  • Shaggy uses his real name Norville, which was first used in the A Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode "The Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core."
  • Shaggy calls Scooby by his real name Scoobert, which was first used in the A Pup Named Scooby-Doo episode "Curse of the Collar."
  • Daphne indirectly alludes to the direct-to-video film Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, when she says to Fred that they know Batman. It could also be a reference to meeting Batman in the Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? episode "What a Night, for a Dark Knight!"
  • The Legion of Super-Heroes is based on the incarnation in the Legion of Super-Heroes TV series that aired from 2006 to 2008.
  • The voice actor who performed the vocal effects of Krypto is uncredited.
  • Special thanks are given to Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, who had nothing to do with this movie, but did create the original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

Errors

  • It's unclear how long the Justice League has been gone, but presumably not too long. It's just that the Daily Planet has supposed to have been exclusively reporting online for five years, yet there's a newspaper in the Hall of Justice with headline news of the Justice League's disappearance.
  • The TroubAlert screen keeps on saying "Trouble Alert."

Marketing and promotion

The movie was unofficially leaked on March 5, 2023, which may have been someone's retaliation for HBO Max canceling Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery Pups that happened two days before, which followed the other cancellations of the direct-to-streaming movie Scoob! Holiday Haunt, and the direct-to-video movie Scooby-Doo! Haunted High Rise.

After much wondering and confusion, the trailer was finally dropped on July 27, only having been teased the day before.
