Behind the scenes
- The episode title is a play on "All hands on deck." You're welcome.
- The S.S. Casey is named in tribute to the late Casey Kasem, who was the original voice of Shaggy from 1969 to 2009.
- Special thanks are given to Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, who had nothing to do with this episode, but did create the original series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!
Errors
- The Scooby Snacks were a mistake by the animators as they weren't introduced until "Sorcerer Snacks Scare."
Legacy
- Velma's phobia of water has reoccurred in "Trading Chases," "Be Cold, Scooby-Doo!," "Doo Not Disturb," and "Naughty or Ice."
- "Halloween" featured a flashback with Fred and Scott as children.
- In "In Space," Shaggy and Scooby escape the alien through an artificial wormhole, which temporarily sends them back in time to this episode when the gang is in the Mystery Machine underwater. Later, Fred accidentally turns on the Mystery Machine's sea form.
- In "Ghost in the Mystery Machine," when the Mystery Machine acts on its evil accord and gets stuck, it shoots out the claw crane-type device to try and get the gang.
- Either Thorn or Dahlia, still dressed like a sea creature, receives their food as an inmate of Darkbrook Maximum Security Prison in "Professor Huh? Part 1."
- Daphne's bad relationship with sea animals is used again in "Professor Huh? Part 6 3/4."
