The Fairly OddParents is an American animated fantasy television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series began life as a segment of Oh Yeah Cartoons! in 1998 before being turned into a full fledged series in 2001. It lasted until 2017, spanning 172 episodes across 10 seasons, a few specials, and three live-action films. A live-action sequel series Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder began airing on Paramount+ in 2022.

Timmy Turner is given two magical fairies; Cosmo and Wanda, after being neglected by his parents and bullied by his babysitter, Vicky. Cosmo and Wanda's job is to grant Timmy any wish as long as it doesn't go against Da Rules. In 2008, the series saved itself from cancellation by introducing Cosmo and Wanda's baby, Poof, followed by Timmy's magic dog, Sparky, and Timmy's neighbor, Chloe Carmicle, with whom Timmy has to share Cosmo and Wanda.

Since Hartman previously worked at Hanna-Barbera, it's no surprise he would squeeze in references to his old job's cartoons.

Flintstones

  • Channel Chasers: Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda are sent into a parody of The Flintstones called The Meatflints. While "driving away" from a sabretooth tiger, Timmy points out that if the cars in this show are powered by feet, shouldn't they just keep running? There is also an error as the Meatflints on the TV Guide is called "The Turnstones."

Jetsons

  • Channel Chasers: Timmy is sent to a parody of The Jetsons called The Futurellis.

Jonny Quest

  • Channel Chasers: Timmy is sent into a parody of Jonny Quest called Johnny Hunt.

  • "The Wand That Got Away:" While on the search for Cosmo's wand, the gang take on the role of Mystery Inc.
