Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: January 19, 2023 on HBO Max

Behind the scenes

  • Fred thinks The Feminine Mystique is about the X-Men comic book character Mystique, and refers to the times Jennifer Lawrence and Rebbeca Romijn played her in live-action X-Men movies.
  • Daphne has a poster for Fog Fest 2006.
  • Daphne's private eye she calls on the phone is Inch High from the 1970s Hanna-Barbera series Inch High, Private Eye, which is only alluded to when he says, "My name makes clear, I'm too short and too high to be useful," implying that he is also a stoner.
  • The names listed on Daphne's list for private eyes are Hanna-Barbera characters from the 1960s and 1970s, Mumbly from The Mumbly Cartoon Show, the Clue Club from Clue Club, Goober and the Ghost Chasers from Goober and the Ghost Chasers, Snooper and Blabber from Snooper and Blabber, and the aforementioned Inch High, respectively.
  • In Daphne's room, there is a sash for a 2019 winning team for something.
  • Daphne has a couple of posters of the Teen Angels, who are a band now, but were originally mystery-solvers from the 1970s Hanna-Barbera series Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels.
  • In Mayor Dave's office, there are portraits/photos of Janet Nettles and Fred Jones, Sr., who also served as mayors of Crystal Cove in the the unrelated 2010s Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated series.
  • The Historical Society has photos of Don Knotts and Phyllis Diller who were guests in episodes of the second Scooby-Doo series, The New Scooby-Doo Movies.
  • Norville was breastfed until he was five.
  • Daphne calls herself "Danger-prone Daphne" as a callback to her nickname in the original 1969 Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! TV series, but unlike that then when Daphne had that nickname because she was always getting caught and walking into traps, this Daphne loves getting into dangerous situations and being threatening.
  • Fred refers to the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, which was popularized as a Disney movie in 1991.
  • This is technically Amanda's first appearance if you don't already count the imprint of her face that she made from inside Sophie's stomach in "Velma."

Errors

  • The first poster for the Teen Angels is a skull with a bow, but the second poster is of the Hex Girls with the Teen Angels' name above them.
  • The fact that Mayor Jones resided in Crystal Cove doesn't make sense, since Fred's dad in this series is William.
  • Kari Wahlgren is credited for voicing Evelyn, although Evelyn isn't shown to be talking, although it's possible one of the lines came from her.
  • Kari Wahlgren is also credited for voicing a paramedic who is neither seen nor heard.
