Jesse Donald Knotts, known professionally as Don Knotts, was an American actor and comedian who voiced himself several times in The New Scooby-Doo Movies and Johnny Bravo.
Knotts died on February 24, 2006 from pulmonary and respiratory complications from pneumonia related to lung cancer at the age of 81.

From 1960-65, Knotts is widely known as the absent-minded Barney Fife in the TV sitcom The Andy Griffith Show, which earned him five Emmy Awards during its run.[1][2] Although he left as a main character after the show's fifth season, Knotts guest appeared as Barney in the following three seasons in color (from 1965-68). He also appeared in the first episode of the spin-off series Mayberry R.F.D. (1968–1971), and in the 1986 reunion television film Return to Mayberry.
