Gloop and Gleep are two amorphous creatures, members of the Herculoids, who protect the warrior-like royal family of the planet Amzot,[1] and the main characters of The Herculoids animated television series. Gloop is considered the larger of the two, while Gleep is the smallest. They are both voiced by Don Messick.
Character description
Gloop and Gleep are gelatinous organisms with a light green coloring and big black eyes. They are portrayed as loyal pets and members to the Herculoids, aiding in their adventures as they defend home planet from incoming invaders. Their language consists of gibberish-like sounds.
Abilities
- Energy absorption: They have the ability to absorb and deflect energy blasts and laser beams, rendering themselves as shields for the Herculoids.
- Shapeshifting: Both Gloop and Gleep demonstrate to alter their body at will, having been able to turn into things like cushions and trampolines to break falls; stretching themselves between narrow spaces to act as slingshots; and restraining attacker's limb, or, alternatively, encasing their whole body until they render unconscious. They can also divide their body masses to smaller portions under full control when necessary and back.

Behind the scenes
- These are the only members of the Herculoids not to be voiced by Mike Road in both the original series and the Space Stars revival season.
In popular culture
- In the Family Guy episode "8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter," Lois interviews Gloop for a babysitting job, but she can't understand him. Gloop seems to be offended and talks more gibberish when Lois asks him to leave, which he does but not before getting Tundro to fire rocks at her. It should be noted that when Lois asks for a reference from his previous "employers," she refers to them as the Herculoids, when the Herculoids are in fact the creatures that are friends with the family, which included both Gloop and Tundro.
