Dynamite Entertainment
Dynamite Entertainment, also known as Dynamite, is an American comic book publisher founded in 2004 by Nick Barrucci in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. It is known for adapting old cult science fiction films and TV series, in addition to literary properties from the public domain. It has also bought the rights to other publisher's canceled titles, such as The Boys, which was adapted into a television series in 2019 for the Amazon Prime Video streaming service.
Since 2022, Dynamite has teamed up with Disney to produce comic book titles on their properties, such as the animated television series Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, villains from their movies, and a continuation of the movie Lilo & Stitch, Hercules, and Zootopia.
History
At New York Comic Con 2023, it was announced that Dynamite had entertained into a new partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery to adapt their Hanna-Barbera properties into a number of comics and graphic novels, including The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, Space Ghost, and Jonny Quest.[1]
At San Diego Comic Con 2023, the Hanna-Barbera-adjacent Thundarr the Barbarian was announced,[2] and then separately The Herculoids, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder.[3]
