It turns out that Space Ghost did not get away with his mistreatment of his former sidekicks and his attack on Zorak, and has been sent to a space prison. But when he discovers that the depressing Birdman has replaced him, he breaks out and makes the long journey back.

Detailed summary

Memorable quotes

Zandor: Go away, Space Ghost! We don't want your kind in our idyllic, alien home world!
Space Ghost: Come on, Zandor! All I want is some directions... And a pierogi.

Birdman: But... you're supposed to be in jail.
Space Ghost: Yeah, and you're supposed to be dumpster diving for ham scraps, you six-piece Chicken McNobody! Get outta my seat!
Birdman: Make me.

Behind the scenes

  • This is a follow up to "Lawsuit," and possibly "Pilot," which featured Birdman as host before he was replaced with Space Ghost.
  • It's revealed that Sylvia is really Galaxy Girl. Birdman and Galaxy Girl being married is a reference to Birdman and the Galaxy Trio.
  • Spacecatraz is a parody of Alcatraz Island.
  • A gag credit is Nathan Cook as Space Ghost's male secretary.
  • Scott Finnell, Andy Merrill, and James Kirkconnell are uncredited.
  • The Adult Swim website skips this episode.
