The Best of the Worst Cartoons Ever was originally going to be the first episode of ToonHeads season seven, and the eighty-sixth overall. The special was originally planned for a 2003 release, however, Warner Bros. did not take a liking to how the special presented their catalog from the 1970s to 1980s, and it was unaired.
Narrated by George A. Klein, the special featured picks of what was considered to be the worst side of the Hanna-Barbera, Ruby-Spears and Filmation catalogs, such as Scooby-Doo clones, failed 70s cartoons, Filmation's Tom and Jerry, as well as Hanna-Barbera's Tom & Jerry Show, and Filmation's Droopy, featuring a full showing of the short, "Disco Droopy."
