The Great Grape Ape Show is an animated American television series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for ABC's Saturday morning children's programming. It ran in 1975 airing 16 episodes that spanned one season.

The show was also featured as a segment of The Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show.

The series followed around a 40 foot tall, purple-furred gorilla named Grape Ape, as he goes on various misadventures with his best friend, Beegle Beagle.

While the entire series is not available for home video, it is available for purchase in some places such as YouTube and Microsoft.

Grape Ape appears in the 2000s Jellystone! reboot. In this series, he is child-like and voiced by series creator, C.H. Greenblatt.

In popular culture

  • In the Robot Chicken skit "Hear the G" segment of the episode "I'm Trapped", Grape Ape is seen dead with police officers surrounding his body, once they checked his ID, they realized they didn't hear the "G" in his name which explains why they shot him.
  • In the Family Guy episode "Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q.," a forged letter mentions Grape Ape.
