Squiddly Diddly is an anthropomorphic squid and the main title character of the Squiddly Diddly shorts. His voice was originated by Paul Frees.

In the Jellystone! reboot, Squiddly appears as a girl. She is voiced by Niccole Thurman.

Biography

Dexter's Laboratory cameo

In the episode "Chubby Cheese", Squiddly appears as a animatronic robot as a part of Chubby's band. He's playing the piano.

Harvey Birdman

In the episode "SPF", his picture is on a glass of soda that Ding-A-Ling is drinking at the beginning of the episode. In "Gone Efficien...t", He's called to the stand due to his name being a "metaphor for copulation". In "The Death of Harvey", He and Magilla Gorilla fight over an old lady's purse before Squiddly gets hit in the head by Huckleberry Hound with a plank.

Wacky Races (2017) cameo

In the episode "What a Wacky Development This Is", Squiddly appears on the tv in the reality show "Worst Prom Date Ever".

Squiddly Diddly made two cameos as part of a mural on the side of a building and on a billboard for Bubbleland.

Everyone's Back in Jellystone!

Squiddly, now a girl, is a recurring character in the series. She's a slightly airheaded valley girl who owns the local music shop. Sometimes she can be absentminded, like asking if anyone is a doctor in a hospital, but she is quite musically-inclined. Squiddly is also a social media influencer and fashion trendsetter. She likes to hang out with Snagglepuss, Captain Caveman, Bobbie Looey, Doggie Daddy, and Wally Gator.

Development

In the concept art phase of Jellystone!, Squiddly was male, but Melody Iza, herself a transgender artist, suggested for Squiddly to be turned into a transgender female character during production. Iza suggested the same change to Baba Looey and Loopy De Loop.

In popular culture

• In "The Jolly Boys' Outing," the 1989 Christmas special of the British comedy Only Fools and Horses, Del Boy blames Squiddly Diddly as the reason his seafood stall failed, since people don't wanna eat sea creatures they've become fond of.
• Squiddly appears in various episodes of The Ricky Gervais Show. In the series, he teamed up with a killer octopus and gave Karl Pilkington a rectal examination.
• Simon Cowell named his two dogs Squiddly and Diddly.
