For timing concerns,[1] Doctor Bigot and Mr. Vandal were part of Captain Swipe's crew in animatics,[2] Mr. Vandal threatened the kids with his axe, while Doctor Bigot (or Mr. Bigot) is a whole fourth wall joke about him existing, with Captain Swipe getting a call from someone called "Jay" who tells him that Mr. Bigot has to be cut, even though "Careen" has already drawn him.[2]
Originally in the episode, the Gossipy Witch was going to spread gossip about Shag wetting the bed, but it was changed to making earwax sculptures. It was probably changed because they didn't want to offend any kids that wet the bed.
