American Dad! is an American adult animated sitcom created and produced by Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television (formerly 20th Century Fox Television) for the Fox Broadcasting Company, who went onto air the first eleven seasons, until it was cancelled in 2013. It was then picked up by TBS in 2014. It has been on the air since February 6, 2005, with almost 400 episodes across 21 seasons. As of 2019, it is a property of the Walt Disney Company, which bought out 21st Century Fox, the parent company of Fox Broadcasting Company.
American Dad! is about the exploits of the Langley, Virginia-bound Smith family led by Republican and CIA agent Stan (voiced by MacFarlane), his loving wife Francine, liberal, hippie college-aged daughter Hayley (voiced by Rachael MacFarlane), geeky high schooler son Steve (voiced by Scott Grimes), the flamboyant, hedonist alien Roger (also voiced by Seth MacFarlane), who has hundreds of alternate identities with simple disguises, and their East German-accented talking goldfish Klaus (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker).
American Dad! has poked fun at the characters and concepts of Hanna-Barbera virtually since the beginning.
