"The Good Little Scouts" is the sixth episode of The Jetsons season one. It aired on October 28, 1962 on ABC. It was written by Tony Benedict and produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the creators of the show and the co-founders of Hanna-Barbera Productions.

George is too busy at work to help Elroy with his Space Cub training, but when his boss's son is in the same troop, he is forced to go on a hiking trip with them to the Moon.

Aftermath

When The Jetsons originally aired, no title cards were present. They were only added when the series was revived in the 1980s, and the original episodes were given title cards for consistency. Notably, they all include Orbitty, who wasn't in the original series.

Behind the scenes

• This is the first appearance of Mr. Spacely's son, Arthur.
• This is the first episode not to use space cars.
• The Moon has parodies of American places such as the Moonhattan Tilton Hotel and Lunar Park in reference to the Hilton Hotel and Central Park, respectively.
• Spacely's middle initial is given as "Q," while in "Jetson's Nite Out", it was "G."

Errors

• Mrs. Spacely looks nothing like she did in her previous two appearances.
• When George is about to split them up, there are four troop members, instead of five.
• The plot ending with Arthur being happy about the badges he's earned implies that he didn't like being on the trip, but his mood seemed to vary between being happy and unhappy.
