Behind the scenes
- The episode title is a play on the phrase, "Monkey see, monkey do." You're welcome.
- The Powerpuff signal is a reference to the Bat Signal used in the world of DC Comics' Batman.
- This is the first time the Narrator is teased to be a real person.
- The movie theater has a film advertised called Clobbered.
- There are dogs playing poker just like the painting Dogs Playing Poker.
- It's interesting that in Ms. Bellum's first appearance, her face is shown, only it's in dog form. A running joke is that her usual human face is blocked from being seen.
Errors
- While the Mayor's transformation into a dog was seen, it's unclear if the bottom half of Ms. Bellum would've transformed into a dog.
Everlasting influence
- Mojo recreates the scheme in "Monkey See, Doggy Two."
Marketing and promotion
- The episode was adapted into a book with the same name by Scholastic in 2000.
