Powerpuff Girls Z, also known as Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z (出ましたっ!パワパフガールズZ, lit. They're Here! Powerpuff Girls Z), is a Japanese animated superhero-comedy television series produced by Toei Animation for AXN. It ran from 2006 to 2007 in Japan, airing a total of 52 episodes that spanned one season. It is based on the American Powerpuff Girls animated series, created by Craig McCracken and produced by Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network Studios.

In a reimagining of the prior series, the Utonium family creates Chemical Z and launches a ray of the substance to break an incoming iceberg at Tokyo City. In the aftermath of that fateful event, three ordinary teen girls–Momoko Akatsutsumi, Miyako Gōtokuji, and Kaoru Matsubara–were blasted by rays of white light, turning them into the Powerpuff Girls Z. Numerous black rays from Chemical Z would later engulf people, animals, and objects to transform them into evil monsters, leading the girls to fight and protect Tokyo City with the help of Professor Utonium, his son Ken, Mayor Mayer and his assistant, Ms. Bellum.

An English dub of the series was produced in association with Ocean Productions in Canada, and aired on Cartoon Network and its sister channel Boomerang on several international stations from 2008 to 2009. Despite owning the IP rights to it, the series never aired in the United States on either channel.
