The Golden Girls was an American sitcom that aired from 1985 to 1992, spanning seven seasons, on NBC. It starred Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Harris.
The series revolves around three 50-something women (Dorothy Zbornak, Blanche Devereaux, and Rose Nylund), and one 80-year-old (Sophia Petrillo), who are either widowed or divorced, and attempt to navigate their "golden years" together in a Miami house, because by 1980s standards, being in your 50s meant being ancient. They get through it with humour, friendship, and occasional chaos, to hold onto their careers, jobs, and newfound romantic relationships.
History
During Space Ghost's interview with Judy Tenuta, Judy says she is known as the goddess of the galaxy, also known as Rue McClanahan, which leads Zorak to fondly reminisce over an episode of The Golden Girls where the cast all ate geritol and died.[1]
Behind the scenes
