Behind the scenes
- This is the first episode of the series to be both produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe and to be in the eleven-minute format, as before it had been in a three-minute short format, which was produced by the studio's previous name Cartoon Network Studios Europe.
- This episode is set before the shorts, explaining how Prince Ivando began his quest, as the shorts already had Ivandoe in the middle of his quest, which was less structured than the episodes were. The last episode of the series, "The Prince and the Scrawny Squire," goes even further back and reveals what inspired Ivandoe to start his quest, along with how Ivandoe and Bert met.
