• The episode title is a play on the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
• The episode is set in June.
• Another Allegro-themed episode (co-written by Julia Vickerman) that involves one of the girls twerking.
• Blossom refers to the fake Mayor as the Bizarro Mayor in reference to Superman's evil opposite Bizarro.
• Bizarro Mayor does the "walk and talk" which was popularized in The West Wing TV series.
