Behind the scenes

  • This episode's title is a pun on the William Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet.
  • Julie may have been named after Julie McWhirter Dees, who also voiced Porky in the series.
  • Julie's dress closely resembles Taffy Dare's dress from Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, but with a slightly longer skirt.
  • At one point, Porky was seen holding a jar of H&B Jam. Later, Buckwheat tore the lid off a box of H&B Detergent. The "H&B" branding may be a reference to Hanna-Barbera.

Errors

  • Julie kisses Porky near the end of the segment. Wouldn't that be a violation of U.S. law at their age?
