Johnny Bravo is the titular character of the Johnny Bravo animated television series. He is a young, good-looking man whose dim-witted and conceit traits causes all sorts of trouble, namely is inability to attract women. He is voiced by Jeff Bennett.

Character description

Johnny is a man in his 20s, defined by his highly machismo physique with big muscles and a large chest. He has a blonde pompadour, and usually wears a 1950s greaser uniform consisting of a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black dress shoes. His eyes are concealed by his black sunglasses, and are not seen proper when not wearing them.

His personality can be best described as being self-absorbed, unintelligent, lustful, inconsiderate, and narcissistic. When he has a conversation with women, Johnny would often try to turn the conversation around by boasting his positive traits (mainly his physique or his niche abilities), or do something physical like flexing his muscles to bring their attention, though his advances are usually rejected and result in the woman in question harming him (in a comedic fashion).

Johnny also naively and faultily believes that all women want him, even when they express the fact that they are uninterested. Johnny also shows persistence to talk to any woman without hesitation, even if his actions prove to be questionable at best. He also has no sense of personal space, as he often rushes at the women and bends them backward while flirting with them, causing most of them to hit him out of disgust. He even occasionally flirts with women who are already in a relationship, going as far as to suggest cheating without any fear of repercussions.

Another attribute Johnny possesses is his determination, as he will go through many tasks, even life-threatening ones, to win a girl's heart; even if it often results in failure. These failures are due in part to Johnny's incompetence and his belief that good looks and macho actions are enough to win one's heart. Because of his shallow views on dating, Johnny usually treats his potential partners like "nagging housewife" types or ignores their needs in favor of his own.

Johnny is presented to be not too intelligent, totally lacking common sense and general knowledge, in addition to having a short attention-span. His level of intelligence and immaturity can vary from time to time, occasionally depicted in more extreme ways than usual. Despite this, Johnny often talks in a snarky, dramatic manner and uses "big" words from time to time. Johnny also seems to be more knowledgeable about his own interests than academics, or nearly anything he deems nerdy.

In "Once Upon a Toon", a segment of the Mad episode "Taking Nemo/Once Upon a Toon", Johnny assists Henry Swan in rounding up all the Cartoon Network characters so they can restore their memories. Due to his memory loss, he doesn't believe he's actually Johnny Bravo, since Johnny is bad with women. He later wakes up thinking everything was dream, only to be proven wrong when Alfred E. Neuman, the show's mascot, appears next to him in bed.

In the OK K.O. Let's Be Heroes! special "Crossover Nexus," he's one of the Cartoon Network characters Ben 10 transforms into.

In the Disney+ film Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, where Johnny exists as a cartoon character in the real world, he promotes Johnny Bravo Fitness on a billboard, with his body hidden, except for his left arm.
