Darkseid is a planet-wide ruler of Apokolips, and a major villain in the Super Friends animated franchise. He was voiced by Frank Welker.
Character description
In the DC comics, Darkseid is a New God and one of the most powerful villains of the DC Universe, as his abilities include nigh-invulnerability and immense physical capabilities. His goal is to find the Anti-Life Equation and use it to enslave all living beings in the multiverse, including Earth on numerous occasions. In essence, he is usually portrayed as cold, pragmatic and tyranical, wishing to manipulate others to his will.
In his Super Friends appearances, Darkseid was still motivated on conquering Earth, but also had a secondary goal of marrying Wonder Woman.

Behind the scenes
- Darkseid is a DC Comics character created by artist/writer Jack Kirby. He made his first appearance in Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 (published in 1970).
