"The Nemo's a No No Affair" is the first episode of Josie and the Pussycats season one. It aired on September 12, 1970 on CBS. It was produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the founders of Hanna-Barbera Productions.

On their way to Pago Pago, the Pussycats and their friends get caught in Captain Nemo's plot to sink every ship in the world, so he can become master of the Seven Seas.

Behind the scenes

The episode is loosely inspired by the Jules Verne 1869-1870 serialized novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The Captain Nemo in this episode points out he is the great-grandson of the original.

Errors

Valerie is depicted as Caucasian when the gang rises to the surface and then when she and Alexander pick the others up on a speed boat.
When Alexander comments on the secret elevator they just stopped into, Josie's lips are missing.
