Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: April 25, 2024 on Max

Behind the scenes

  • Between seasons one and two, HBO Max became Max.
  • Norville becoming a snack junkie whenever he gets severe anxiety attacks is a reference to how the original incarnation always eats. His father forcing him to use drugs to cope is also an in-joke to how the audience has perceived him since the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! in 1969.
  • Norville has a poster of Charlie the Robot in his room, who was the monster in the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode "Foul Play in Funland."
  • Two Daphne and Velma fangirls at school have their hair and clothes closer to the original white girl incarnations.
  • This is the first episode to reveal the names of Fred's dogs, Jinx and Staircase. Fred comments on the failure of using them to help him solve mysteries, which is a reference to Scooby-Doo.
  • Daphne has a poster of Crystal Cove Fog Fest 2006.
  • Andia Winslow replaces Yvonne Orji as the voice of Gigi.
  • This is the first episode not to have a commercial song.

Errors

  • Daphne has posters of the Hex Girls, but it still has the Teen Angels' name on it, even with Thorn as a proper character now.
  • Stephen Root is credited for voicing Sheriff Cogburn, although he didn't talk outside of the recap of the previous episode.

Everlasting influence

  • The Creaky Friday dance happens in the next episode, "Creaky Friday."
  • Sophie (as Uncle Scoobi) isn't revealed to have been the one who bumped into Velma at the cemetery until "Til Death."
  • The chewed shoes are revealed to be the doing of Scrappy in "The Real Villain."
  • The scene where Jinx and Staircase tear up the shoe at the funeral home is flashbacked to in "Aman Hunt."
