Release

Dates are in order of release:

  • United States: February 9, 2023 on HBO Max

Behind the scenes

  • Velma has a poster for Crystal Cove Fog Fest 2006 in her bedroom.
  • It's mentioned that The Mystery Machine (although not known in this series by this name) was made in 1969, the same year the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! TV series.
  • Velma gets her glasses knocked off, a recurring gag in the aforementioned original series.
  • This is Yvonne Orji's last episode as Gigi, who was replaced with Andia Winslow the next season. Orji does however return for one episode as Gigi's baby sister Sammy in "Female Utopia."

Errors

  • Velma has a post-it note that says "Project Scooby," when it was previously spelt, "S.C.O.O.B.I."
  • The billboard says "Jones Gentlemen's Accessories," but the sign on the building says, "Jones Gentleman's Accessories."
  • Kulap Vilaysack and Frank Welker are credited for voicing Lola and William, respectively, but neither of them talk.
  • "Weird Al" Yankovic and Andrew Morgado are credited for voicing Dandruff Tuba and Froyo, respectively, but neither of them appear.

Legacy

  • Norville deals with the trauma of accidentally killing Victoria throughout the second season.
  • In the next episode, "The Mystery of Teen Romance," Velma doesn't start to go after Norville after admitting she loves him, but instead acts like it was a mistake and continues to date Daphne.
  • In "When Velma Met Money," there is a photo of the gang bickering when they get keys to the town in Norville's bedroom.
