The episode began as a story treatment by Nick Boxer and Dan Gottlieb.

The main title and music were composed by Thomas Chase and Steve Rucker, and the end title music was composed by Murray McFadden and Timothy Mulhollan, with lyrics for the latter written by Nicholas Boxer. The director of music production was Bodie Chandler.

Behind the scenes

• This is the last episode of the series to open with a narration from Captain Planet (formerly by Kwame) of what the show is about, being replaced in the next season with an obnoxious rap by Fred Schneider.
• Wheeler, Linka, Ma-Ti, Gi, and Kwame get into the studio by disguising themselves as mucky versions of Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Betty Rubble, and Dino, respectively, from The Flintstones TV series.
• One of the sets at the studio resembles the buildings in The Jetsons TV series.
