The Sarge

According to the Top Cat Wiki, the Sargeant's surname is Flanagan, which I believe has been used more than once. (In one episode, his first name is given as Eugene.) I thought it was a really good sense of continuity that Hanna-Barbera was showing with continuing to use the name Flanagan more than once, then typical Hanna-Barbera decide to give him another surname right on the last episode, making "Flanagan" seem a pointless use of continuity. According to Top Cat Wiki, he's also the Chief in Top Cat: The Movie. -- Signed by James (talk) 05:03, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Interesting, I believe I saw him a few occasions in some episodes, don't think I caught his name though. Not sure about the surname, I'll have to check that out later. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 05:07, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Their source is the episode "Dibble's Birthday", which seems to have a mentioning of his surname. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 05:14, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Talk show

I'd love to see what that talk show looked like. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:23, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Same, it sounds interesting. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 10:33, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Episode order

If Yowp doesn't care for Top Cat, he really shouldn't cover it at all, because he's listed two episodes with a different air date, so now I'm just put off by covering the series, because I don't want to go thru 30 episodes, knowing that they're likely all wrong and I'm just continuing the false order that the rest of the internet has fallen victim to. -- Signed by James (talk) 10:38, 27 June 2022 (UTC)

Hello MisterJames. How's it going on creating Top Cat episode pages on this Hanna-Barbera Wiki? --Michael (talk) 14:25, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

It's going a bit better. We're more than half way there in figuring out the order. Something I could do without, but I shouldn't be surprised. -- Signed by James (talk) 14:32, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

Top Cat is Boss Cat in the UK

Hello again. Does anyone know that Top Cat was known in the UK as Boss Cat due to the fact that Top Cat was also the name of a then-popular British brand of cat food?

See here: https://lostmediawiki.com/Boss_Cat_(found_British_opening_and_ending_titles_of_%22Top_Cat%22_animated_series;_1962-1989)

Hope this helps. --Michael (talk) 15:19, 28 June 2022 (UTC)

The Top Cat Sketch

Joe Barbera's book mentions someone else who did the drawing as well that I will add at some point. -- Signed by James (talk) 15:35, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

About Top Cat (1980s Syndicated Version) and other H-B shows being videotaped

Hey Snoopy, James, QuestJ65 and SonicEXeP, there's a clip of the Top Cat episode The Case of the Absent Anteater uploaded by MihaiChetreanu17 being that of the 1980s syndicated version and it looks like its videotaped as well.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhPKLlOnUeU

I think there's also other H-B shows that appear to be videotaped, such as The Flintstones, Wally Gator, The Scooby-Doo Show and The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.

See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7Mo8pOgGTE

I take it, these must have been shot on film but edited on videotape, just like Garfield & Friends and Star Trek: The Next Generation, among others?

Thoughts? --Michael (talk) 18:30, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Interesting, not sure how much more I can say though. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 18:37, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
EDIT: Update: Bad news, MihaiChetreanu17's YouTube channel has now got terminated due to copyright strikes, i do apologise BTW. --Michael (talk) 16:27, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
