Behind the scenes
- The International Soccer Cup is a parody of the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
- The American reporter's character model is reused from Diane, a British recruiter in the short film Scooby-Doo! Spooky Games.
- Every time someone says Eshu, a "gesundheit" joke follows.
- Shaggy says "Zoinks" once.
- Velma says "Jinkies" once.
Errors
- When first on the scene, the gang are all looking forward from a far-off shot, with Scooby and Velma bopping back and forth, but when it cuts to a close-up, they're looking to their left, and Scooby and Velma suddenly aren't bopping anymore.
- Shouldn't the Brazilian team have been disqualified for using an American dog to score their winning goal?
