"Dexter's Rival" is the first part of the third episode of Dexter's Laboratory season one, and the twelfth episode overall. It aired on May 11, 1996 on Cartoon Network. It was storyboarded and directed by the series creator, Genndy Tartakovsky.

Dexter meets his match in the form of Mandark, a new student who proves repeatedly that he is better than Dexter in every way.
