Memorable quotes

Shaggy: Like, there he is, Scoob! Our favorite wacky songster: "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Scooby: "Another Rone Rides the Rus"! Ree-hee-hee-hee-hee!
(Bat-Mite pauses the screen)
Bat-Mite: Scooby-Doo, Batman, and Weird Al! It's the holy trinity of pop culture!

Bat-Mite: You see this? Someone mispainted Batman's neck. I hate that!

Bat-Mite: You know, back when this show was made, Batman couldn't even throw a punch! Lucky for us, I possess near infinite, reality-warping magical powers. Let the Bat-fight begin!

Batman: My good friend, millionaire Bruce Wayne, is a big polka fan. I'm reasonably sure he'd match your contribution now.
Weird Al: Ha, ha! That's wonderful, Batman! Done!
Shaggy: Or, like, we could still split it up...
Weird Al: We did it, gang. Let's celebrate with a polka!

Release

Dates are in order of release:

Behind the scenes

  • Outside of the Scooby-Doo segment, the episode also has two others based on the "Bat Boy and Rubin" comic from Mad #8 (published in 1953), and Jiro Kawata's Batman manga from the 1960s.
  • Bat-Mite's room in the in-between segments contain images of various Batman merchandise throughout the years, including those from the 1960s that are based on the TV show starring Adam West.
  • The Scooby-Doo segment has a laugh track.
  • Scooby mentions Weird Al's 1981 song "Another One Rides the Bus", a parody of the Queen song "Another One Bites the Dust".
  • Velma refers to herself and her friends as Mystery Incorporated to the ticket girl.
  • The shark PSA segment is likely a reference to an infamous scene in the 1966 Batman film, in which Batman wards off a shark with an explosive Bat Spray repellant.
  • Shaggy says "Zoinks" once.
  • Mindy Cohn and Frank Welker are uncredited as the ticket girl and a shark, respectively.
  • The last scene of this episode—which involves Bat-Mite bursting out of a drum and proclaiming "That's all, Folks!"—is an homage to the classic end title of various Looney Tunes animated shorts from the early-to-mid 1940s, which feature Porky Pig doing the same thing. The theme song of the Looney Tunes shorts, "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down," also plays in the background of this scene.

Errors

  • There are purposful mistakes made for the Scooby-Doo segment:
    • Part of Robin's cape goes missing during the shark PSA scene. His insignia goes missing in an earlier shot of this same scene.
    • When Mystery Inc. and the Dynamic Duo talk about finding Bulldog's money, the piece of cowl on Batman's neck is missing and the insignia on his chest has inverted colors. The former is pointed out by Bat-Mite.
    • Robin's insignia disappears again for one shot in the conversation mentioned above.
    • Batman's left glove is replaced with a ring on his finger, when he tells Weird Al that Bruce Wayne will contribute to his polka museum plan.
  • The Scooby-Doo segment would theoretically not exist in real life, as The New Scooby-Doo Movies aired from 1972 to 1973, and Weird Al wasn't even a recognized musician until the debut single "My Baloogna" in 1979. (But then again, what even was the point of explaining such a minute detail?)
