"Trio's Company" is the second episode of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law season two, and the eleventh overall. It aired on April 18, 2004 on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block. It was written by Michael Ouweleer and Erik Richter, based on a story by Steve Patrick, and directed by Richard Ferguson-Hull. The Hanna-Barbera series ridiculed in this episode are Inch High, Private Eye and The Galaxy Trio.

Inch High hires Harvey to represent him against the agency that wrongfully fired him due to his diminutive size; Harvey gets mixed messages when a gym trainer moves into his apartment, although they haven't even been on one date, they haven't kissed, and keeps on calling him "Harry."

Development

The idea came about based on the fact that Inch High probably wouldn't be very effective in real life, and Steve Patrick having a psycho girlfriend. He was too busy to do a complete job, so it was taken over by Ouweleer and Richter.

Filming

Barney popping out of the hole was added late.

When Reducto runs around screaming, Stephen Colbert actually ran around the booth screaming.

The scene shown during the end credits was put there, because the episode was running late. The scene itself happens much earlier in the episode.

The DVDs for this episode contain four deleted scenes.

The music is composed by Michael Kohler.

Behind the scenes

• The title is a play on both "Three's company" and the Galaxy Trio.
• Ring Dongs are a parody of Ding Dongs.
• The scene where Harvey keeps on slapping Reducto to get the truth out of him is an allusion to a scene in the 1974 film Chinatown.
• Barney, Terry, and Vulturo's mouths move with the rest of the group, so neither of them have their distinctive voices coming through.
• In the steam room, the bear's voice is archive of a real bear.
• The guy at the gym's counter is reading a magazine with the Galaxy Trio's logo on the cover.
• This is a rare occasion where Debbie is seen, but not heard, which is the opposite of what usually happens.
• Ouweleer, Richter, and Ferguson-Hull provide audio commentary for this episode on DVD releases. Notably, they mention that the series could've been about Vapor Man, called Stanley instead of Terry. Incidentally, he has the least focus of all the Galaxy Trio.
