Spike is an anthropomorphic bulldog and deuteragonist of the Tom and Jerry animated franchise. Spike was introduced as a character in the theatrical short series, with his first appearance in 1942's Dog Trouble, and subsequently in other media such as television series and direct-to-video films. His voice was originated by Billy Bletcher, and then by Daws Butler from 1949 to 1957.
