Behind the scenes
- With every episode's title card, one of the gang announces the guest star, which is Shaggy this time.
- Jason observes the romantic tension between Fred and Daphne, which this series had never done before. He also comments on Velma's bad habit of losing her glasses and Shaggy and Scooby's eating habits, all of which he refers to as tropes and filler that he doesn't care for while on his search for the sneakers.
- Jason also brings up the fact that Scooby is a talking dog.
- How many times does Shaggy say "Zoinks?" Thrice.
- How many times does Velma say "Jinkies?" Twice.
- How many times does Daphne say "Jeepers?" Once.
- How many times does Fred say "Hold the phone?" Once.
- The establishing shot of the city is reused from what was supposed to be Chicago in "When Urkel-Bots Go Bad!" Although that time the buildings were green, instead of blue.
- Scooby-Doo collects sneakers so he can chew on them as a regular dog does.
- In the sneakers store, there is a parody of Andy Warhol's painting of Marilyn Monroe, but with sneakers instead.
- The plastic coffee cups in Velma, Fred, and Daphne indicate that they're apparently just everyday average young adults who go to Starbucks like everybody else.
- Chen's Coffee originally appeared in the TV series Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
