Behind the scenes
- The episode title is a play on the song "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. It is also a paraphrase from the Hex Girls' own song "Hex Girl."
- With every episode's title card, one of the gang announces the guest star, which is Daphne this time.
- How many times does Fred say "Hold the phone?" Once.
- The outfits of the Hex Girls in their early days, is what they wore when they originally appeared in the direct-to-video film Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost.
- Mystery Inc. don't say the Hex Girls' name in unison like usually do for the celebrity guest(s) in other episodes.
- This episode doesn't outright contradiction the other times Mystery Inc. and the Hex Girls have been together, but it also doesn't refer to their past encounters either. Daphne has simply been hired by the Hex Girls, end of.
