"The Race is On" is the first episode of Around the World in 79 Days season one, and came as a segment of the Cattanooga Cats. It aired on September 6, 1969 on ABC. It was produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the founders of Hanna-Barbera.

The race is on, with Phineas's first destination being in Paris, but Crumden has a sneaky scheme to try and get Phineas locked up at Paris.
