They may be sassy, but those gnomes like their bridge spotless. How will Prince Ivandoe get across?
Summary
On his way to Eagle Mountain to collect the Golden Feather, the valiant Prince Ivandoe and his trusted squire, Bert, make it to a bridge that is being wiped all over by seven gnomes. Ivandoe greets them by declaring who he is and his quest, but he gets offended when the rather pompous gnomes refer to him as a goat and won't grant him access to the bridge after noticing his dirty hooves.
Ivandoe gives them a royal order to let him pass, but the gnomes retaliate by all joining together to form one bigger man to fight Ivandoe. In return, Ivandoe jumps on Bert, although this doesn't have quite the same effect. Bert struggles to move forward so that his master can fight the gnomes, and in doing so, accidentally soils the very top of the bridge. The gnomes freak out and disperse onto the mess to clean it up. Ivandoe and Bert use this distraction to get across the bridge. Ivandoe, unaware of what has just occurred, believes the gnomes have forfeited the fight out of fear. Bert, ever the loyal squire, doesn't tell Ivandoe the truth, and instead continues to support him by saying that songs will be sung about his victory, which Ivandoe is pleased to hear, just as long as they leave out the goat part.
