Talk:Yakky Doodle (character)

Some people seem to consider the duck from Tom and Jerry to be the exact same duck as Yakky. But I don't believe this to be true. Sure, Yakky is based on him, but they're still two entirely separate characters. Currently, I am undecided on the name of the former. His first appearance is in "Little Quacker", and he's credited in the new Tom and Jerry Show as Lil' Quacker, but I heard him be called Quacker in one of them. -- MisterJames (talk) 22:16, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

I believe that Yakky was based on Quacker and they share similarities so it does make sense for people to think their the same character. But then again that's like saying Augie and Daddy are the same characters as Spike and Tyke because they were partly based on them (which isn't exactly true). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 22:30, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Biddy Buddy

I *think* I would consider Biddy Buddy from Yogi, to be Yakky, though. -- MisterJames (talk) 22:17, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

I believe Biddy has also appeared in some shorts of both Augie and Snooper. I also noticed that when Yakky came, Biddy disappeared and a Snagglepuss short used Yakky instead of Biddy. It's hard to determine but apparently Biddy still existed when Hokey came along but hasn't appeared in any of his shorts (there was a line of comics I found that featured Huck, Biddy, Ding and that kangaroo from early shorts). -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 22:30, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
I found out the Kangaroo's name from the comics, it's named "Ka-Pow". -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 22:35, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
So, Biddy and Yakky existed at the same time? Interesting. -- MisterJames (talk) 22:48, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
In this comic Huck mentions the duck as "Biddy Buddy". These comics are pretty hard to find for some reason as I could only find some of them on this site. I noticed it said it was published in 1972. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 22:55, 20 January 2021 (UTC)

Since Yakky never appeared in those comics (never appeared on screen at the same time), I would take them as the same character. Biddy Buddy and Ka-Pow seemed like recurring characters in various HB cartoons from 1958 to 1962. Ding-a-Ling, although not important as Hokey was in the series, also appeared in these comics. I believe these comic stories show us Huck trying his best to teach younger-aged characters. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 09:58, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Yakky was the only 1958-1962 main animal character not to wear some kind of necktie. -- Snoopy The Dog (talk) 17:23, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
