In "Brobots," there's a van called "Augie Doggy Burger." I'd like to believe that's a reference to Augie Doggie, but I have no clue. -- Signed by James (talk) 00:34, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Unpopular opinion

I know this is a hot take despite the lengths this series has in terms of entertainment value, but I don't think Teen Titans Go! deserves to be hated this much (at least in online spaces).

At best, I understand the frustrations coming from older fans who wanted to see more of the 2003 series, but in my opinon, I find it endearing when accounted as its own show. Even I can be like that sometimes, but I admit that I grew up on this series a bit more than the other one (despite seeing the latter firsthand), either due to some repeated airings or through exposure in memes.

I personally see it as a more juvenile, loose parallel to how the 1966 Batman show is precieved when it first aired; loved by mainstream audiences, but despised by some of the hardcore comic fans who perfered a more serious take on the character. Teen Titans Go! is kinda like that in some ways when compared to the OG series. Its just that online discorse made it a bit harder to appreciate the show as is, not to mention the self-aware jokes it had in expense of the pre-existing fanbase. These may have angered some, but I don't really mind it that much.

Beyond that, my only criticism may have been the fact that its humor can be a detriment in some episodes, even with the show's intent as a comedic spin-off for Teen Titans. Again, my opinion only should be taken with a grain of salt, but your views may vary.

I may have been more on the side of the original show for many reasons, but TTG should be in everyone's watchlist of DC animated shows, even for only one episode or two.

TL;DR, the show's good, but not as great as the one that came before. Y'all just too mad at it cuz its different and the show decided to clap back at y'all. -- QuestJ65 (talk) 05:05, 24 April 2025 (UTC)

I watched New Teen Titans, the precursor to Teen Iitans Go!, and that was mildly entertaining, but when the reviews came in on Teen Titans Go like with the waffles episode, it was pure hate and it picked on everything that was annoying about it, and I just immediately understood, and just decided that it was garbage. The first time I started to recognize how smart it actually was when Superman drew a picture of himself and Batman growing old together and Batman dying first. Then I eventually watched it, and everything that was said to be irritating was irritating, but only if you came in immediately deciding to hate it. It can be really funny, and it's a refreshing light take, which has certainly helped it survive for 9 years. That doesn't mean it's always gone in its favour, sometimes it can create a tiny or big sigh, but it has done some great stuff that otherwise wouldn't ever have been done. I also got back into the original Teen Titans, and I could appreciate the seriousness of it. I like the contrast between the two. If you want a break from "serious" Titans then you can go to "funny" Titans, and vice versa. I don't think the two ruin each other, they provide a good counterpoint to each other. -- Signed by James (talk) 09:44, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, man. Sometimes, all it takes is to take a breath and look closely into what makes a series work under a microscope. I also think that the show's exposure (or at least, its overexposure) on Cartoon Network didn't help its reputation when it was in its prime, but when you compare the channel's programming schedule today to when TTG was relavent about a decade ago (at least in the US), it makes you wonder if the show would ever get a chance of being re-evaluated. I sort of lost interest of it when I heard about CN's airtimes at that time, but I also admit that it would might get some sort of renewed interest moving forward, especially for people who grew up with it as children. Those especially would have either found it nostalgic, or found a new appreciation through the 2003 series and the comics. -- QuestJ65 (talk) 19:36, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
